Some thoughts on adoption

I just want to say that I am fully supportive of adoption. I am pro-life and believe that even if two parents have no use for their precious biological baby, someone else will love them. If I find out I can't have any more kids on my own, you can bet I will try and adopt! I have several friends who are either adoptees or who, when they were very young, gave a baby up for adoption to another family. However, I do think that in some cases unethical adoptions take place…for instance when one parent’s rights (usually the father) are denied, or living relatives who may want to raise the child aren’t taken into consideration, or when the biological parents are very young, social workers, agencies, and their own families coerce them into giving up a baby that they very much wanted to raise. I think adoption can be a beautiful, wonderful thing for all parties involved…as long as it is done ethically and no one’s rights are trampled on in the process.

Enabling is wrong.

26th Jun 2012 | 1 note Hateful brat attacks 3 year old with scissors and chops off her hair, judge says he will reduce her sentence if her mother cuts off her hair, mother whines that punishment was too harsh. Not to mention, this 13 year old had previously been in trouble with the law for threatening to rape and mutilate another girl. Classy. When I was a kid I would have been pushing the little one on the swings or helping her throw a ball. My daughter is 1 now, if a teen did this to her I would have a few harsh words to say to her mother, and if MY kid ever did this (and in my family we teach right from wrong) you can bet there’d be some haircutting. She’d be in a crew cut AND serving the maximum time! The mother is complaining that "an eye for an eye doesn't teach kids right from wrong." Well lady, it looks like YOUR methods aren't exactly working!
Restitution cut for North Carolina eugenics program victims. Governments should not have a right to decide who should and should not be having children. Sure, some people aren’t good parents, but just because they are “poor” or “uneducated” or whatever labels they want to put on people, doesn’t mean they will be bad parents.

German court rules religious circumcision a crime

28th Jun 2012 German court rules religious circumcision a crime While I don’t think it is completely necessary, parents should have a right to circumcise their child if it is their religious tradition. More government overstepping boundaries and trying to parent everyone.

A vomit-inducing story

Yourself

Happy 4th

I still love this place, even if it isn’t the place I grew up in. I will love the U.S.A. until I feel that there is no love left for me here.
